On-Demand Education Learning

Welcome to the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association's range of on-demand education presentations, videos and webinars.  As part of its continued commitment to the turf industry the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association has made all webcasts, available to all Sports Turf Managers to access free of charge.  Featuring over 120 individual Sports Turf Management presentations across Agronomy, Sportfields & Grounds, Golf Course Management or Leadership & Development, the videos are presented by prominent Australian and International sports turf managers and industry leaders.  


International Education Opportunities for Australian Sports Turf Managers Association Members

Through our partnership with our International Affiliate, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) all members have exclusive access to the GCSAA online learning portal.  This will cover a rotation of 20 of the most requested videos, e-learning modules and on-demand presentations along with the ability to access selected live webinars for Australian Sports Turf Managers Association members to access to continue their learning and development.

Turfgrass Conference Location



Keynote presenters included Andy Johnson from Sentosa Golf Club and Professor Scott McElroy from Auburn University and Kiwi Olympian Rob Hamill.  Great workshops including 'A practical approach to project management for greenkeepers and groundsmen'



Keynotes presenters include Lee Strutt from the Royal Automobile Club and Professor Mike Richardson from the University of Arkansas.  Workshops cover HR management, leadership and team building.



It was great to welcome back keynote presenters Dr Frank Rossi, Ken Mangum, David Bancroft-Turner and Dr Fred Yelverton. The plenary forum 'Recognising and dealing with stress in the workplace' is highly recommended with match (cricket) referee David Talalla opening the batting ahead of superintendents Phil Moylan and Phil Beal.



Keynote presenters included Dr Jack Fry from Kansas State University, past GCSAA President Bruce Williams and a returning David Bancroft-Turner. Local speakers included Daryl Sellar, Brian Dunn and Tony Gordon. A highlight of the week was the opening plenary session forum, 'Danger Sun Overhead'



Keynote presenters included Pat Finlen from The Olympic Club, David Bancroft-Turner and Dr Karl Danneberger from Ohio State University.  Local speakers included Dr Nick Malajczuk and DSA recipient John Neylan



Returning international presenter Dr Thom Nikolai from Michigan State University was joined by a host of local presenters including Dr Jim Hull, Matt Roche and Sharon Kaibel. 2013 was the first year Monday workshops were offered, proudly sponsored by Gold Partner Jacobsen.



Keynote presenters included Dr Frank Rossi from Cornell University, Dr Van Kline The Toro Company and ex AFL Great Wayne Schwass on his struggles with depression. With so many common issues affecting turf managers, the 2012 conference included Management and Agronomic streams in addition to the regular Golf and Sportsturf streams.



Keynote presenters included Brian Whitlark from the USGA and Dr Micah Woods from the Asian Turfgrass Centre. The theme for the conference was Plan, Build. Play with a number of workshops and forums covering construction.



Keynote presenters include Euan Grant, Turnberry (UK), Kyle Waters, Home Depot Stadium (USA) and Dr Thom Nikolai, Michigan State University. Local speakers included Richard Forsyth and Les Burdett.





The 2020 conference returns to the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (22-25 June 2020). Click here for more information
