Description

Dubbo Golf Course is a championship 27 hole layout; the board are actively seeking the services of an innovative and driven Golf Course Superintendent to deliver initiatives in line with the clubs vision.  You will work closely with the Club Manager and be responsible for the day to day requirements of the Golf Course ensuring it is being kept to the highest standard along with assist the club to achieve long term strategic projects.

Your key responsibilities will include

  •  Ensuring a safe workplace and publicly accessed grounds in line with relevant WHS legislation, PCBU obligations and industry best practice.
  •  Lead your team along with take a hands on approach toward all maintenance duties to create and maintain a high standard championship Golf Course.
  •  Ensure all vehicles, plant, equipment and club property are operated and maintained in a safe and efficient manner.
  •  Implement fertilising programs on all areas of the course, as well as storage and maintenance practices of stocks of soils, similar dressings, pesticides, fertilizers, fungicides and other similar materials
  •  Design, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems and equipment
  •  Carryout turf renovation, including scarifying, coring, de-thatching and sanding.
  •  Recognise, prescribe and treat turf diseases, weeds and pests.
  •  Carryout installation, repairs and maintenance to the bores, water systems, and irrigation systems and equipment.
  •  Develop a detailed Annual Operating Plan, including an annual course maintenance and improvement budget (capital and operational) in consultation with the Club Manager.
  •  Monitor and review agreed expenditure budget and, in consultation with the Club Manager, implement any corrective action required.

You will have

  •  A Drivers Licence with a safe driving history
  •  Five (5) years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson in the maintenance and construction of golf courses or turf playing surfaces
  •  Certificate IV in Horticulture or equivalent qualification
  •  AQF 3 Chemical Accreditation (ChemCert)
  •  General Construction Induction Certification (White Card)
  •  Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring a team to achieve high quality outcomes
  •  Demonstrated experience in irrigation construction and maintenance, including course drainage and water storage.
  •  Demonstrated ability to plan, cost and budget, the annual operational maintenance and capital works programmes to best benefit the climatic conditions and playing demands of a playing surface.
