The Murray Downs Golf and Country Club is one of the finest regional courses in Australia and the number one rated course on the Murray River. Located near Swan Hill, this championship 18 hole course designed by Ted Parslow offers all golfing enthusiasts the highest quality challenge and experience. The Club is seeking a Course Superintendent to be responsible for the preparation, maintenance and presentation of the Golf Course, Bowling Greens and the surrounding Gardens and Grounds, including the Clubhouse. The Murray Downs Golf and Country Club currently operates the Swan Hill Club and Spoons Riverside as well as the golf club. Three leading venues in the Swan Hill region. Reporting directly to the CEO the key responsibilities includes, but not be limited to;

• Maintaining the playing surfaces and equipment to a high standard
• Recruitment, Induction, Training and Performance Managing all staff in the greens department
• Developing and working to budgets. Developing and reporting against the Club’s Turf Management Plan
• Maintaining the Club’s WHS policies procedures
• Technical Advancement – Remain up-to-date on all industry developments.
• Benchmark standards and supervise technical work such as pesticide application, fertilization, irrigation, and equipment maintenance and equipment operations.

Experience and qualifications for position

• Relevant Golf Course, Turf Maintenance or Horticultural trade or equivalent qualifications.
• Accreditation in Chemical Applications & Safe Handling
• Demonstrated knowledge of WHS Legislative Requirements
• Strong Financial and budgeting skills

• Additional requirements in supervision or other appropriate specialist modules.
• Relevant Golf Course, Turf Maintenance or Gardening skills experience at a similar or larger venue.

The Club pays according to the Registered & Licensed Clubs Award 2010. A remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
