A career opportunity has arisen within AGCSATech, the technical services arm of the Australian Golf Course Superintendent's Association (AGCSA) for a driven, highly experienced degree-qualified Agronomist or similarly qualified and experienced turf professional to assume the challenging role of SENIOR AGRONOMIST - GOLF & SPORTS TURF. This important position, working alongside the Environmental Agronomist (and which ideally will be Melbourne based) will be responsible for providing AGCSA members, other professional turf users and stakeholders with accurate, unbiased agronomic advice and services. AGCSATech has a diverse customer base including golf courses, sports fields, bowling clubs, racetracks, etc. and is expanding in to leisure and amenity markets and wherever the highest quality, independent turf advice and assistance is sought.
Soil and water analysis as well as pest and disease identification
Site inspections, audits and assessments on a national and international level
Project management from design specifications to completion
Establish, maintain and develop trial and research sites for applied research purposes
Education of members and other stakeholders via various forums

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally, candidates will have, at a minimum, degree qualifications in Agronomy in turf grass management or similar, and demonstrable, extensive experience in the golf and sports turf agronomy field. (Candidates without such qualifications are invited to apply if they have relevant experience and other relevant qualifications)
Confident communication skills at all levels of industry. Must be adept in MS Office
Proven analytical and project management skills
Strong business acumen and awareness to identify and develop new commercial opportunities
This role requires extensive national (and possibly international) travel so flexibility, excellent planning and time management skills are imperative.
