“I believe it is a significant step forward for the association to have Damian join the Board” said Association President, Brett Balloch. “Having Damian come on board is a further sign of the unification of the industry, strengthening of the association and continues our efforts to be more representative of our membership”.

In an unusual year filled with uncertainty, the Board has been heavily engaged in guiding the Association through COVID-19 challenges for the team, for members and the turf industry. The Board and Executive have been focusing on the challenges faced, as well as emerging opportunities and our future strategic direction.

Importantly, Damian has consistently displayed a profound respect for the role of all Sports Turf Managers and the industry, and joins a Board dedicated to continue connecting and driving the profession forward.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to have a turf manager and person the calibre of Damian join the Board” said Mark Unwin, Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Sports Turf Managers Association.  “A turf manager of his knowledge and experience will complement the Board perfectly, and his desire to see the industry evolve will assist greatly in our desire to work collectively toward highlighting the important contribution that Sports Turf Managers make to sport and recreation right across the country”
