Adelaide Oval (head curator Damian Hough) is once again partnering with Australian Golf Digest to hold a second Stadium Golf event after its highly successful launch last year. Between Saturday 5 and Saturday 12 October 2019, golfers of all levels are being encouraged to tee up for one of golf’s more unique experiences. The nine-hole stadium golf course, clubhouse putt and longest drive simulator competition is open to the general public and corporate groups.
Last year’s event, held in late October/early November, saw golfers tee off from various locations around the stadium to nine greens situated on the hallowed Adelaide Oval playing surface. Holes ranged from 50-90 metres in length, with tee locations including Level Five of the southern Riverbank Stand, the northern mound at the base of the famous Moreton Bay fig trees and a purpose-built platform in front of the oval’s heritage scoreboard.
For the first time this year, golfers will have the chance to win $250,000 in a hole-in-one competition. Amateur men and amateur ladies who hit a hole-in-one during the week will be invited back on the final day of the event to tee off on the 105m hole. Score a hole-in-one with this swing and win a quarter of a million dollars!
