AGCSA and epar launch Verification of Competency training

Friday 12, Jul 2019

The AGCSA and epar have combined under the Golf Environment and Safety Compliance Initiative to offer training for members and other Turf Managers on Verification of Competency education

Verification of Competency (VOC) is a method of assessment that assists employers to meet OHS requirements and ensure staff are trained, and still competent to operate equipment or perform a task.

The AGCSA has identified that assessing for Verification of Competency enables its members to confirm that their employees are competent in their skills and use of equipment, and supports the Environment and Safety Compliance Initiative as employers must be able to show evidence of how they have determined competency and allowed an employee to operate plant

The AGCSA has joined with epar and its partners to offer certified competency assessment training, and the AGCSA is encouraging members to make sure they review the current process at their workplace to ensure they are not only meeting obligations, but also assisting the development of staff, and protecting assets and the reputation of the industry.

Courses are being offered in central locations in each State throughout August and September 2019 and places are limited to 20 attendees per location.
