The Bairnsdale Golf Club, one of the premier country clubs in Regional Victoria is looking for a Qualified Turf Tradesperson to join our course maintenance team. 

Established in 1904, the club is known for being a progressive country club with excellent fairways and greens as well as two turf bowling greens. In recent years the club has won the following awards,

• Australia “Golf Facility of the Year” by Golf Australia in 2015 and 2016
• Golf Victoria “Golf Club of the Year” in 2017
• Victoria Regional” Pro-Am of the Year” in 2015 and 2018
• Gippstar “Club of the Year” in 2018

The club has a membership base of approximately 700 which is growing and welcomes visitors from all areas. The club is situated near the Gippsland Lakes which is an extremely popular holiday location in East Gippsland.

The Position

The successful applicant will work in a team of three under the supervision of the Course Superintendent. The club is currently progressing with major irrigation system upgrades with installation expected to be completed in 2021.

Applicants must have a very keen interest in fine turf management, horticulture, machinery and an understanding of the game of golf. This position will be Full Time Monday – Friday with work required weekends, public holidays as per Roster.

Personal qualities such as a strong work ethic, team orientated, highly motivated, courteous nature, and an eye for detail and has both golf course and ideally bowling green experience.

Skills and Attributes

The successful applicant will have:

• Certificate III in Horticulture qualification (turf management)
• Chemical Spray certification 
• Previous experience, operating and maintaining ground maintenance machinery
• Understanding of OH&S and environmental requirements of a golf course
• Excellent communication skills
• Current Australian driver’s licence
