Turf Equipment Technician

 

Glenelg Golf Club is one of Adelaide's leading private golf clubs with a vision to be one of the premier golf clubs in Australia. Rated within the top 50 Courses nationally, we are currently seeking to employ a motivated and driven full-time Turf Equipment Technician responsible for the maintenance of the Club’s course plant and equipment.This pivotal management role within the Course Maintenance Team ensures that well-maintained equipment helps to produce the best possible conditions for members and their guests year-round.

Under the direction of the Course Superintendent, the Turf Equipment Technician will ensure the workshop, plant and equipment is maintained in a safe and efficient condition.  Working with the Course Superintendent, ongoing equipment replacement programmes are to be planned, as well as the management of workshop procurement, stock control and budgets. Professional development and training plans are to be formulated in consultation with the Course Superintendent to ensure industry best practice training is received.

 

Skills and Abilities

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Trade Certificate 3 in a motor trade
  • to be competent in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • diesel engine diagnostics skills
  • hydraulic servicing experience
  • small engine service experience
  • to understand auto electrical schematics 
  • experience with spare parts stock management 
  • proven ability to manage fleet servicing 
  • to adhere to environmental and WHS legislation
  • a current driver's licence.

 

Additional skills that would be favourable to your application are: 

  • light metal fabrication 
  • experience with Toro turf maintenance equipment
  • sharpening and maintenance of cylinder mower cutting units 
  • machining experience, e.g. lathing 
  • forklift licence
