Peter Lonergan confirmed as new AGCSA President

Coolangatta & Tweed Heads course superintendent Peter Lonergan (pictured) was officially elected president of the AGCSA at the 2012 AGCSA Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 6 June. As mentioned in past editions of The Cut, Peter takes over from Allan Devlin (Secret Harbour) who stepped down after four years as president and a total of seven years on the Board.

In an emotional farewell speech at the Syngenta President’s Dinner on the closing night of the conference, Allan thanked all AGCSA members, the AGCSA staff and wife Julie for their support during his time on the board.

The AGM also saw Anglesea Golf Club course superintendent and former VGCSA committee member Brett Balloch officially elected as an AGCSA director for a term of two years. Brett takes over the Events and Education portfolio from Peter and joins incumbent directors Darren Wilson (Wembley Golf Complex, WA – Treasurer) and Tony Fogarty (Club Catalina Country Club, NSW – State Liaison).
