Hewitt confirmed as new VGCSA president
Thirteenth Beach superintendent and AGCSA member Steve Hewitt (pictured top right) has been confirmed as the new president of the Victorian Golf Course Superintendents Association. Hewitt, who stepped in as interim president following Brett Chivers' departure in February, was officially appointed to the role at the association's annual general meeting held at Victoria Golf Club on Friday 27 May. Former treasurer Nathan Bennett (The Sands Torquay) has been elevated to the vice-president role, while Huntingdale Golf Club superintendent and former VGCSA president Michael Freeman rejoins the committee, replacing the outgoing Matt McLeod (Tocumwal Golf Club).
After being on the general committee for the past year, Cranbourne Golf Club superintendent Barry Proctor takes over the secretary role from Jeremy Cutajar, while Mat Poultney from Greenacres Golf Club joins the general committee for the first time. The full VGCSA committee is:

Sunshine Golf Club superintendent and AGCSA member Mark Findlay collected the VGCSA's coveted Toro Cup in the golf, while Anglesea Golf Club superintendent and AGCSA member Brett Balloch won the Powell Trophy. Daniel Docherty from Globe won the President's Shield. The next VGCSA education meeting will be held at Marysville in September.
