NSWGCSA golf day raises $4000 for Bourne family
The NSWGCSA Rube Walkerden Golf Day held at The Lakes Golf Club at the start of May has raised $4000 for Western Australian superintendent Simon Bourne who suffered a sever spinal injury while on holiday in February. The NSWGCSA announced on the day that it would make a $1500 donation for Simon and his family, which was in turn matched by Dad & Dave’s Turf Supplies. A donations tin was also passed around during the presentation dinner with another $855 raised. The NSWGCSA has rounded this up to $4000 and is in the process of organising the donation to get to Simon and his family.
Arrangements are also being finalised for the Bourne Family Quiz Night which will be held on 22 May. Due to an overwhelming response to the night – 72 tables of 10 have been sold to date – the venue has been changed to the Perth Convention Centre. More tables are still available at $500 per table and a fantastic range of quiz and raffle prizes and auction items will be up for grabs.
