AGCSA unveils Course Operations Induction Manual
The AGCSA is pleased to announce that after a number of rewrites and edits it has signed off on its Course Operations Induction Manual for golf club committee members and general managers (cover image pictured). The 29-page manual is presented in seven sections and is now available for download through the HR and Best Practice section in the members area of the AGCSA website.
Such a resource has been developed in response to members’ desire to ensure all parties with an interest in the management of golf courses have their views heard and respected. The main purpose of the manual is to provide a document for new board/committee members and general managers to assist in their understanding of golf course maintenance operations and the role the course superintendent and his/her team play. It endeavours to enhance the knowledge base within the clubhouse environment by providing an insight into the extremely complex nature of modern-day golf course management, how a typical course maintenance operation is set up and explaining a range of course management terms and practices.
The June 2010 edition of the AGCSA Action newsletter, which was sent out to all members in the second week of June, provides a full breakdown of the manual’s content. The AGCSA encourages all members to view the manual and we invite your feedback.
