New faces join NSWGCSA executive

The NSWGCSA committee has no less than three new faces following the association’s Annual General Meeting held at Pennant Hills Golf Club (superintendent Richard Kirkby) in late August. Matthew Goodbun (Newcastle Golf Club), Malcolm Harris (Northbridge Golf Club) and Martin O’Malley (Linwood Country Club) were all elected to the board for the first time and replace outgoing directors Justin Sheehan, Nathan Elder and Shaun Probert. Following the recent events at Magenta Shores, Kenton Boyd had also had to relinquish his position on the committee. The new-look NSWGCSA committee is:

President: Craig Wright (Cabramatta GC)
Vice-president/Treasurer: Craig Molloy (Shortland Waters GC)
Secretary: Ryan Fury (Killara GC)
Committee: Stuart Hall (Asquith GC), Mark O’Sullivan (Roseville GC), Steve Jacobsen (Carnarvon GC), Matthew Goodbun (Newcastle GC), Malcolm Harris (Northbridge GC) and Martin O’Malley (Linwood CC).

The meeting also saw former Killara Golf Club superintendent Bill Hopkinson made a life member of the association. Hopkinson, former superintendent at The Australian GC, spent around three decades at Killara during which time he was also a committee member and president of the NSWGCSA.
