'Movember' Fever Hits WA
It may be the growing season, but superintendents and greenkeepers in Western Australia will be cultivating a slightly different crop during the month of November. The GCSAWA is getting behind ‘Movember’ and is encouraging its members to grow moustaches during the month to help raise awareness and funds for men’s health research.
The GCSAWA has registered a team with the Movember Foundation – the aptly named Golf MowMen – and is asking its members to sign up and do their bit for men’s health. The GCSAWA is also welcoming donations from the wider turf industry and to pledge your support simply click on the link below, enter the team name Golf MowMen and follow the prompts, or send a cheque payable to the GCSAWA (P.O. Box 289, Karrinyup, WA 6921).
Over the next four weeks the GACSA through The Cut email newsletter will keep readers up to date with the progress of the WA boys, including photos for you all to have a good laugh at. The AGCSA has agreed to donate $100 to the best looking (or should that be most dodgy) mo and at the end of the month will come up a list of finalists for Cut readers to vote on.
