Qualified Greenkeeper

My name is Thomas Kolakovic and i am 24 years old, I have been greenkeeping for around 7 years. As I grew up in St. Andrews, Scotland, golf has been a major part of my life and I am lucky enough to have worked on some the truly great courses of the world. (St. Andrews, Kingsbarns, Turnberry and Carnoustie.)

I have taken great interest in working over in Australia for some time and am currently looking to acquire any information on job prospects in the Melbourne and Sydney area. I plan to apply for a 12 month working visa in July/August as this I believe is when the main summer season starts in Australia, also in the hope more jobs in this line of work will become available. I feel as though that having the chance to work in Australia will extend my knowledge and understanding of the turfgrass industry.

I am currently working at The Wisley Golf Club in Surrey, England, which at the moment has on going construction work which has helped me understand the ins and outs of irrigation and drainage to say the least. I am also fully capable on any machinery work necessary to help maintain the golf course at a high standard.

My current qualifications are an NC greenkeeping and an HNC in golf course management both acquired at Elmwood college in Scotland. I have also got my PA1 and 6 spraying certificates, also gained at Elmwood college. I say current qualifications as I am looking to finish my foundation degree in sports turf, distance learning this year.

I have attached my C.V. for you perusal and it will give you an idea of some of the golf courses I have worked at and also the mayor golf competitions I have been involved in. Also references are available.
