The workshops are FREE for all AGCSA members and will run for four hours. AAP members will earn three CEPs for attending. Numbers are limited due so be sure to book a spot now

2010 turf conference webcasts prove popular
Delegates who attended the recent 26th Australian Turfgrass Conference have taken advantage of the recent release of webcasts from the event. As mentioned in last week’s edition of The Cut, all fully registered and day delegates were sent access to 17 presentations from the plenary and golf stream sessions that were videoed during the Gold Coast conference.
Since releasing them this time last week, more than 280 people have viewed footage with nearly 70 hours worth of
presentations downloaded. Jostling for top billing at this time are Euan Grant’s ‘A Life on the Links’ and Matt Roche’s ‘Final Results for Warm Season Grasses (HAL Project TU 05001)’. (Incidentally, that last presentation as well as Andrew Peart’s ‘Evaluating new Bentgrass Cultivars’ – HAL Project TU08002 – are available for viewing free of charge through the following link.
Those AGCSA members and non-members who were unable
to attend this year’s conference can purchase access to all webcasts or individual day sessions (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday). As a special offer, if you purchase access to all webcasts the AGCSA will also include a copy of the 174-page 26th Australian Turfgrass Conference Proceedings. Click here for more information on prices and a list of presentations.
For more information about the conference webcasts or to purchase access please contact Lyndel Conway at the AGCSA or call (03) 9548 8600. The AGCSA is also keen to get your feedback on the webcasts and this can be directed to either Brett Robinson or Simone Staples.
New banking details for AGCSA
It’s not often we hear from AGCSA accountant Philip Horsburgh, but this week has been an exciting one for the resident beancounter in more ways than one. Not only did his daughter Abbey give birth to Liam Jack earlier in the week - the first Horsburgh grandchild - but Phil also signed off on a change of banks for the AGCSA. The AGCSA is now with Westpac so if you are planning on making EFT payments for membership etc... then please note the new account details as follows:
Westpac
BSB: 033 380
ACC: 382426
For more information, or if you have any issues with EFT payments to the AGCSA, contact Philip or call (03) 9548 8600

If there is one book which has established itself as a seminal text for the Australian turf and horticulture industries over the past quarter century, it is without question Kevin Handrek and Neil Black’s Growing Media for Ornamental Plants and Turf. After three reprints of the first edition in 1996, 1989 and 1991, revised editions were released in 1994 and 2002. Earlier in 2010 Handreck and Black released the fourth edition which has again been substantially revised and updated. The AGCSA currently has a number of copies of this book in stock and AGCSA members can pick up a copy for just $65 (non-members $79.95). To order your copy contact Lyndel Conway at the AGCSA or call (03) 9548 8600.
