Following the devastating floods which have left a trail of destruction in Queensland, the Australian golf industry will be rallying around to support those affected via the Golf Industry Flood Disaster Relief Fund.

 

Tuesday 18 January: The clean up continues for Brisbane superintendents and many clubs have held working bees over the past couple of days to get their courses cleaned up. Today's update includes more photos from McLeod Golf Club superintendent Peter Daly and news from Wolston Park that they are hoping to have 10 holes open tomorrow!

Avondale Golf Club course superintendent and AGCSA member David Warwick was last week named Superintendent of the Year at the Australian Golf Digest’s annual Player of the Year Awards dinner.

Last week the AGCSA successfully hosted the first of its regional ‘walk and talk’ sessions at Horton Park Golf Club on the Sunshine Coast.

The quick-thinking actions of RACV Royal Pines Resort course maintenance staff have potentially saved the life of a colleague following an on course accident recently.

The AGCSA is pleased to announce that after a number of rewrites and edits it has signed off on its Course Operations Induction Manual for golf club committee members and general managers (cover image pictured).

Australian Turfgrass Management Journal has had further success at the Turf and Ornamental Communicators Awards which were announced in the US last week. ATM picked up six first place awards and two merit awards for writing, design and photography in the International section.

 

One of the Australian turf industry’s most revered and influential practitioners, Peter McMaugh, has joined the elite of the Australian horticultural community after being named the 2009 recipient of the Graham Gregory Award.
